BCCT Members
  • Membership is at the heart of BCCT.

  • It is a requirement that Coastal Community Teams are partnerships - with representation from all sectors of the local community.

  • Membership is open to any businesses, voluntary organisations and community-minded people who support the mission of BCCT to improve the economic, social and environmental development of the local area.

  • It's from the membership that projects emanate.

  • It's also from the membership that the BCCT steering group is formed.  The terms of reference specifically require the involvement of both Cornwall and Bude-Stratton Town Councils.

The diagram below shows the key relationships (Section references relate to the terms of reference)

Extract from our terms of reference - setting out the basis of BCCT membership
"DCLG guidance state that a Coastal Community Team is a “local partnership consisting of the local authority and a range of people and business interests from a coastal community who have an understanding of the issues facing that area and can develop and drive forward an effective strategy for that place.
“Members of the team can be drawn from any part of the community who have an interest in their area being successful, but especially existing groups such as local voluntary and community organisations, major local employers, representatives of important local assets, etc.
"Membership of BCCT is limited to groups and individuals covered by DCLG guidance."
