BCCT was invited to this breakfast meeting – to provide “in about 5 minutes … a brief synopsis on BCCT relating to economic regeneration; what has been achieved so far, and what could be done in conjunction with the Chamber …”
5 minutes was not long enough to cover the breadth/depth and scale of the issue
That it was good to see the level of interest and support to re-activate the Bude Chamber and for closer collaboration with Cornwall Chamber, though it was recognised that much needs to be done to harness the collective energy of local businesses for sustained growth and prosperity.
Two handouts were provided:
A summary of BCCT activity, which incorporates the recent proposal for the creation of a more diverse and representative partnership structure
A diagram which illustrates the wide range of components that make up the local community, that ideally need to have a voice in community development.
In addition, there was interest among those present about the Bude Business Voice project. More information is available here – and in due course, the end-of-project report will be published.
